Crisis averted! The Team AWOL servers are slowly making their way online again.
We are a bunch of Australian PC gamers who've been gaming with each other since December '07. We are not a clan that wars, but a clan that socializes.
AWOL was founded by 3 G-Mod players; Sylver, Easystreet and Cube. Since then the AWOL Community has had many members, some still with us and some that have left us.
No matter what you are looking for AWOL is the place to start.
While primarily we play FPS games like Garry's Mod, Team Fortress 2 and Counter-Strike: Source like usual gamers we all play a large variety of games from many genres.
Currently we have multiple servers hosted on our own server box and a Ventrilo server, which is open to the public, so feel free to join and have a chat with us.
Joining Team AWOL is simple. We started as a group of friends, and we recruit from friends. Want to join up? It's simple. Just join our ventrilo channel and ask one of our admins to make you an account. There are no rules on the ventrilo, but be polite. From there, don't be afraid to ask what we're all up to, and definitely join in and make some friends. We don't bite. Honest.
Team AWOL is also a very developer friendly community. We have lots of coders, mappers, modelers and texturers. If you have a game (or a gamemode for Garrys Mod, for example) feel free to ask one of our admins for a test server, and we'll see what you can do. Likewise, any suggestions or maps that you may have made can be put forward for evaluation to our members or admins, and uploaded to our servers.
While everyone in Team AWOL may not be an admin, many of us are in charge of development for the individual servers.
Team AWOL, as a group of friends primarily, will often go through times where we will play one game obsessively. This game is mentioned above, if you'd like a friendly, or a comp stomp, or even a scrim or war, hop on the ventrilo and ask us!
