From my experience servers are only good for actual clans that participate on a ladder. I'm sure others will agree with me that having a server will only be a waste of funds.
They rarely get populated and usually require a majority of us playing on it to get populated.

But hey, if someone wants to pay for it, don't let me stop you!

Couldn't you just swap a Gmod server for a TF2 one? That being said the Gmod ones are going great right now.

People dont join clan tf2 servers like they do gmod servers its really hard to get your moneys worth with tf2 servers seeming we dont really scrim that much anymore etc.

That's because clan ones are generally identical to any given GA/node/whatever server.

Offer good custom maps, that's how you get the player base (check out the TOG servers).

Better yet, offer something completly new, with garrys mod theres always umpteen new great mods that you can put on your server, with tf2 it's a bit more complicated than that.

That's why we get the players on our Gmod players.
But there's bugger all you can do with TF2 in terms of originality, short of good underplayed custom maps.

Remember our servers are hosted in New Zealand. If I swapped one of our Gmod servers for a TF2 one, you'd all end up with shitty ping.
