Awol logo

Hey guys, As you may have heard, I recently commissioned a design company to draw us up a proper sized logo, so that we can use it on our website and wherever.

They've just got back to me with a bunch of designs, based on the one we have on the website header. We are allowed a few redesigns of each one, until we're satisfied with a final product. Vote, and tell me which one you like, and why, and if you really want, maybe make a mud-map of anything you would like done to it.

Personally, I like 4 and 7, because they stick to our original logo. I think that the crosshair needs to be shrunk a little, however.

P.S. 3 looks like a cross between the terminator and the american flag.

3 reminds me of the Mass Effect logo, which is pretty neat.

Seven is almost the exact same as we have at the moment, just different colours, which is fine by me. We also need to think about the utility of the logos as well, as after this is done, I'll start to make some noises about getting a t-shirt/jumper run with the logo on it done.

Berets are awesome, number 1 like Sylver said seems "too shiny", and neat :P

I believe in terms of logo design, one is by far the best. However, as Sylver said, it doesn't represent AWOL in the best of times.
A logo is meant to be simplistic, recognisable as a silhouette. One, albeit once taken down a notch, fits this perfectly.
As for seven, the noise in the font, as in the deterioration in the text is part of what has been stylized, when it really shouldn't be. If at all, it needs to be applied after everything else, as if it actually has eroded through time. This is simply not the case. The O is indistinguishable and the bevel is as common as hydrogen. The colour scheme is two preset gradients which do not represent any kind of proper contrast, they're just there.
One is the only one without the problem of the noise. However, three easily surpasses the others as, although the grunge is still part of the font, there are no stylization effects, resulting in what might aswell be applied afterwards. The style itself represents AWOL quite well, what with the target and the very rectangular geometry.
I mean, Spiffy said it reminded him of Terminator, how is that not awesome?

One is retarded, 2 < 3 which looks kinda American, 4 is nice and classic, 5 is insulting, 6 would be improved by removing the sparkle thing at the back and making the letters un-grotty, 7 is the best of the lot and 8 reminds me of tf2.

How much did you pay for this silver/why didn't you get find somebody in AWOL/the servers to do it/why do we need a new logo at all lol.

7 > 3 > 6 > 1 (I basically agree with waddles but I'm not a fan of having a shield in our logo)

It basically means they don't go all out and make something radically different, just fix us up with the proper file for the logo, so that we can use it where ever we want.

On another note. In regards to clothing with that logo on it, it'll be around about $60 for a jumper with that logo on it, bulk will reduce the cost a lot.

I also looked into getting a beret with logo one put on it. Will cost about $50 each.

If its meant to be recognised as a silhouette, 1 is shite. A shield is definitely not a symbol that would even try to sum up what AWOL is.
3s alright, not sure about that red text though.
Also, I just noticed 7s A is drooping slightly.

I never said one would fit AWOL, as it truly doesn't. I just think, aesthetically, it's the best logo there.
